My 1974 BMW 2002

From shell to road, the rebuilding of a classic automobile my way.

August to September 2003

Here is the new brake cylinder in place. The brake cylinder is held on by 2 10mm bolts on the back side of the brake backing plate.

New metal brake line. It's not long enough to follow the original path, so I'm running it along the top of the trailing arm and will connect the rubber line to it there.

Full shot of the left rear. Those shocks will need to be replaced.

Right rear, really need to do some cleaning of the subframe. The black in the wheel well is rubber undercoating from a spray can.

This is before taking it apart so I can see how it is supposed to go together on the other side. One of the stud needs to be replaced since it spins freely.

Some of the areas I still need to repaint. But first must smooth them out a little more.

Got these headlight buckets from Keith. New ones go for anywhere from $97 to $180.

It's odd, but there is no left or right headlight buckets, they are all the same. You just adjust them for which ever side you put them on.

That really changes the front of the car a lot. Currently they are only being held in by one nut on each. I have to find the correct size to tighten the rest.
