My 1974 BMW 2002

From shell to road, the rebuilding of a classic automobile my way.

February 2005

Adjusted rear brakes and got the horn working better. Also got the passenger side door panel in.

The contact didn't want to stay in contact with the steering wheel. So I took some electrical tape and made sure it would stay.

I had to replace the drivers seat with another one that I had to put the seat cover on it, not the greatest looking. Someday I'll get some nice seats in there.

I got the door panel installed finally on the passenger side. As you can see it is missing some things. The door handle isn't on because the screw that holds it in place doesn't want to go in, so it doesn't stay. Still it looks better than it did.

As you can see on either side of the hub there is a small little post. That is the adjustment for the brakes. You use a 17mm wrench on the back side to turn these to move the pads until they are just about touching the drum. This greatly helps with the pedal travel, mine went from almost going to the floor to moving only a few inches. I have to replace this hub since one of the studs spins in its spot. That will be covered later.

Here we have an issue. The gas pedal goes down a little way, but not all the way. The carpet, being old and crumby is no longer shaped right and gets in the way. So sometime new carpet will be getting put in here.
