My 1974 BMW 2002

From shell to road, the rebuilding of a classic automobile my way.

October 2004

This month was more miscellaneous stuff, just trying to get the car ready for the road. I got my air compressor hose run into the garage finally, so it will make things a little easy to work on.

The bronze wheels look good against the blue, at least I think so.

I hooked up the mechanical fuel pump because the electric one just didn't seem to do enough for it, so now both are hooked up.

This is an old strut bushing that needs to be replaced.

Notice the top part angles up like a volcano.

Here we have a new one installed. I was able to replace it with out taking out the strut. Getting the strut rod up through was the trickiest part, but I remembered that if you put a jack under the strut housing and jack it up it compresses it and pushes the rod up. You can't really tell in these pictures but the center part doesn't go upward like on the old ones.

Here is the carpet roughly put in, still need to secure it.

Here is the door panel off my parts car, I just hung it on there to see how it looks. The driver side one I'll have to replace the backing.
